The centre consists of an integrated primary school for both disabled and non-disabled children, as well as full-time boarding for those who need it.

The on-site occupational therapists and teachers assist children with autism and learning disabilities. They provide assessment, education and disability awareness to parents, teachers and the community at large.

Our PROGRAMS

Intensive therapeutic intervention

This program targets children with physical and mental disabilities ages 0- 14 with their caregivers by providing access to a neuropediatrician and therapy from one to three months. Training is also provided to the caregiver to continue with therapy at home. This aim at equipping caregivers with the knowledge and confidence to be able to properly handle their children. In this week caregive get off their busy schedule and able to concentrate on the child more understand their child and meet other parents

Integrated school: Montessori kindergarten

This Monday to Friday school programme is for children both with and without disabilities. The Montessori method uses a multi-sensory approach to information, providing effective education to students with and without learning disabilities. The integration of students creates a unique learning environment. Disabled students are given the opportunity to board at and be cared for by the Gabriella Centre.

Special need class

Gabriella centre offer school programme for children who can not fit in regular class for short time in oder to understand their learning needs and ability. The programme aim at supporting children who are mostly misunderstood in regular class and end up been traumatized.. also this class are model for other to learn.





Assessment and school advice

School-aged children are assessed and their needs are addressed. The centre works with surrounding schools and special needs teachers to assist the children and monitor their progress. school assessment is done at our centre and also during our outreach visits.

Quality Test

Therapists and teachers conduct home visits to empower communities to realize their roles in supporting people with disabilities through conducting community awareness meetings and education sessions. The centre works with ELCT-Northern dioceses, PHEDA, and mobility care to conduct a survey to allocate needed resources to people with disabilities. GABRIELLA now extend the outreach to ROMBO and Mto wa Mbu - Arusha.

Special class for children with autism.

Gabriella centre has special focus on children with autism. Understanding their need gabriella centre has special class with special need teachers and therapist which is designed to meet individual need. We provide unique way for children with autism to be able to utilize their skills and talents which most of time is not understood

Vocation & Skills Training

This program, mainly for children and youth with mild disabilities and those who came from marginalized environment , teaches individuals different vocational and life skills. The caregiver and child work with our team to set a joint goal(s), and the team works with the student for three months, involving the caregiver during the first and last week. The participants board at and are cared for by the Gabriella Centre for short time.

1. Vocational skills includes – livestock keeping ie goat, chicken and rabbit

2. Gardening – vergetable, yellow fleshed potatoes etc

3. Cooking – cooking food and bites such as popcon and ground nuts

4. Tailoring – which focus on making tourist attractive products such as bags, hair band etc

5. Capentry – focus on making therapeutic equipment such as special seats, tables, walking aids which as sold for children with disability

6. Handcraft – this includes using masai beads to make different things like bracelaces, ear rings, neck laces etc

7. Drama,dancing and drumming – this focus on understand talents as well as building their confidence

8. Fashion show – this also aim at building confidence as well as talents on decent fashion shows

our current need/wish list

1. support for scholastically material for children who come at the centre

2. support for transport for each child or youth cost about 120 usd for transport

3. support for uniform for children

4. iPad for autism class

5. Salaries for therapists, special need teachers, matrons

Due to the demand we are expanding our service to have more sufficient centre. We have identify the land and thank you for the YES Kilimanjaro and GO campaign who have shown interest in fundrising and already supported buying 5 ecra land.

You can get involved by supporting individual child to get an opportunity to attend therapy at Gabriella, by paying their stay, equipment for therapy etc
